Mold Facts You Should Know
Should I Have a Mold Inspection? Take the Following Mold Quiz
There are many areas in every home where mold growth can be hiding. A professional mold inspection can help you identify those areas where mold is actively growing in your home. The inspection will often reveal enough smaller areas of mold contamination that the cumulative effect is that of a large area. You will also be given advice on how to eliminate and control mold colonies. Because indoor mold is a direct cause of so many health problems, a mold inspection is a wise investment for everyone, not just those who are already suffering from symptoms.

Due to countless mold-related lawsuits, problems associated with mold have received extensive media exposure and have raised new concerns in health and real estate industries. Mold contamination can impact almost anyone and cause serious health problems and property damage.
In fact, a small area of mold contamination can emit tens of thousands of spores into your indoor air each day. Some mold types are infectious, some are extremely toxic and most indoor molds are considered allergenic.
In a lot of cases, there are no visible signs of mold. It could be growing behind the walls, above the ceiling or under the floor. There are many areas in a building where a water problem can exist and lead to a mold issue.
In new home construction, many may have a mold problem built into the home. The lumber used is left outdoors during construction and in all types of weather. The wet lumber is used to frame the home and then the sheathing and drywall are applied trapping the moisture and possible mold between the walls. This is the perfect breeding ground for continued mold growth. Mold poses health risks and it also does damage to property.
